if we were quarantined together

i wouldn’t be afraid to let you touch me

you’d get clean and i’d cook you soup.

we’d take baths and i’d listen

to your words, i’d hear them.

i long to hear you say my name.

i’d watch you sleeping, breathing.

oh, to hear your breath!

oh, to see your chest rise and fall!

sometimes i touch my own face,

unafraid of corona, and imagine

it’s your fearless skin on mine.
